Demon Hunter
Vengeance
Playstyle
Dual-wielding tank blending damage reduction, self-healing, high mobility, and enemy control. Not fully damage-prevention-based like Protection Warrior — the toolkit reduces significant damage instead. One of only two specs that heal based on damage taken (the other is Blood Death Knight). Powerful opening burst for snap aggro, frequently usable cooldowns, high avoidance from natural Dodge/Parry, and can cancel knockbacks with Glide.
Highly mobile, self-sustaining tank
Season 2 Tier Set
Abyssal Doomhound's Pursuit
Sigil of Flame's damage over time is increased by 50%. Soul Cleave increases the duration of Sigil of Flame on your primary target by 2 seconds.
Immolation Aura and Sigil of Spite deal 100% increased damage against targets affected by your Sigil of Flame.
+ The Good
Highly mobile, self-sustaining tank
Strong burst threat
Well-rounded healing/damage-reduction
Chaos Brand
Handles solo and open-world content unusually well for a tank spec
Naturally high passive avoidance reduces incoming hits before mitigation even factors in
− The Bad
Several short-duration defensives (Fiery Brand/Frailty) must be actively juggled rather than one steady mitigation stat
Healing doesn't work on environmental damage
Some of its mitigation is debuff-based, so it lapses the moment you can't keep it applied to a target
