Playstyle

Unique support-oriented ranged DPS wielding the Black Dragonflight's Earth magic while empowering allies through Black- and Bronze-themed support abilities (launching enemies airborne, inflicting temporal wounds, amplifying nearby allies' power). Fairly simple rotation and straightforward learning curve — great for newer players and veterans alike. Notable utility kit: Rescue, Time Spiral, Spatial Paradox, Cauterizing Flame.

A team-damage multiplier more than a personal-damage number

Highly accessible to learn

Strong survivability (Defy Fate)

Exceptional mobility (Hover/Glide)

− The Bad

Own direct damage is secondary — output depends on the effectiveness and survival of whoever it buffs

Limited AoE scaling outside of buffing allies

Capped at 25-yard range like other ranged casters

Losing a buffed ally mid-fight quietly erodes your own output, especially in dungeons

Scalecommander

Augmentation & Devastation hero tree, oriented around personal damage and Breath of Eons. Patch 12.1 nerfed its core Mythic+ gameplay loop (Wingleader rework, Duplicate no longer knocking enemies airborne), so it now trails Chronowarden at the very top end of raid but remains the more approachable pick for an average Mythic+ player.

Chronowarden

Augmentation & Preservation hero tree, leaning on Haste/cooldown reduction to strengthen the spec's group buffs. Expected to stay the preferred raid pick in Season 2 and performs well in Mythic+ too, though it leans more heavily on buffing allies than dealing its own damage.
