Hunter
Survival
Playstyle
Flexible melee DPS that can also throw solid damage from range. Built around weaving Kill Command to generate Tip of the Spear stacks that empower Wildfire Bomb and Raptor Strike. Rotation is busy and fast-paced — a spec about active buff and cooldown management rather than a simple priority list.
Same near-mandatory Hunter's Mark buff as the other two specs
Season 2 Tier Set
Skulking Viper's Ambush
Raptor Strike damage increased by 15%.
Mongoose Fury also increases the damage of Wildfire Bomb by 10%.
+ The Good
Same near-mandatory Hunter's Mark buff as the other two specs
No hard target-count weakness — solid jack-of-all-trades pick for M+ pulls of any size
− The Bad
Weak passive defenses that rely on active cooldowns
Struggles more than other specs against constant DoT-style damage patterns
Losing your pet mid-fight hurts more here than for most pet classes, since it's tied directly to resource generation as well as damage
Its utility kit leans toward Mythic+ scenarios and offers comparatively less for raid
Output swings a lot patch to patch, since so much of its identity is generic damage rather than a defended niche

Builds around a Sentinel's Mark proc that empowers Wildfire Bomb, keeping the rotation close to standard Survival. Currently the recommended tree for both single-target and AoE, mainly for its steadier damage profile and better mobility/defensives.
Cycles Howl of the Pack Leader beasts alongside Raptor Strike/Kill Command spam for a faster, more resource-hungry playstyle. Close behind Sentinel in output, but more exposed to downtime and to the Boar's charge being parried or missing outright.
