Shaman
Enhancement
Playstyle
Melee 'battle-mage' DPS juggling three things at once: keeping Crash Lightning/Stormstrike/Lava Lash on cooldown, managing Maelstrom Weapon stacks to fuel instant casts, and reacting to spec procs (Hot Hand or Tempest). Icy-Veins is explicit that despite Midnight easing it up, 'there's still a fairly steep learning curve when getting comfortable with the flow of Enhancement.'
Genuinely versatile — solid single-target, cleave, and AoE with minimal talent-switching
Season 2 Tier Set
Ophidian Oracle's Prophecy
Voltaic Blaze causes your primary target to erupt in a Fire Nova every 2 seconds for 6 seconds. Fire Nova damage is increased by 200% if it only strikes a single target.
Fire Nova reduces the cooldown of Crash Lightning by 2 seconds and increases the damage of your next Crash Lightning by 8%, stacking up to 5 times.
+ The Good
Genuinely versatile — solid single-target, cleave, and AoE with minimal talent-switching
Brings Bloodlust alongside the class-wide Skyfury buff and Windfury Totem's melee damage cooldown
− The Bad
Not "overtuned" compared to the best melee specs — a flexible comp fit rather than a top-of-the-charts pick
Control-utility access was trimmed in Midnight
Main defensive cooldown runs on a long 90-second timer

Adds the Surging Totem cooldown and leans into Hot Hand/Sundering payoffs. More consistent than Stormbringer, but Patch 12.1 pulled enough power out of its burst that it now struggles to keep pace.
Adds Tempest as a heavy AoE Maelstrom Weapon spender and amplifies existing spenders further. High-variance (Doom Winds RNG can swing a lot), but currently firmly ahead of Totemic in every scenario after Patch 12.1's buffs landed more on this tree.
