Playstyle
Melee tank whose entire playstyle is generating and spending Rage — Shield Slam builds it, Shield Block and Ignore Pain spend it defensively or offensively. Most defensive cooldowns need to be used proactively, before damage lands, so real survivability comes from knowing encounter timing rather than pure reaction.
Shield Block makes it excellent against physical damage
Season 2 Tier Set
Jade Warlord's Dominion
Free revenges deal 15% additional damage and cause your next Shield Slam to deal 20% additional damage.
Ravager and your free Revenges cause all targets to bleed for X damage over 12 sec. Ravager's cooldown is reduced by 30 seconds.
"X" is an unfilled tooltip value straight from Blizzard's own post — the actual bleed damage hasn't been announced yet.
+ The Good
Shield Block makes it excellent against physical damage
High uptime on Avatar and other offensive cooldowns — particularly strong Mythic+ tank
Brings both Battle Shout and Rallying Cry
Spell Reflection can turn an otherwise-dangerous mechanic into a non-issue in Mythic+
− The Bad
Clearest weakness is unblockable damage layered with constant magic damage in raid encounters, which can demand extra healer attention
Self-healing doesn't scale with damage taken the way it does for Vengeance Demon Hunter or Blood Death Knight
Damage spikes hard if Shield Block lapses or you lose your facing on the enemy

Utility
Hero talents
Leans into lightning-themed cooldowns and adds Storm Shield, useful in both raid and Mythic+. Currently ahead on rotational flow, Rage generation, and defense, though both trees remain competitive on damage and utility.
A slower, more deliberate rotation built around buffed Shockwave (choice between Earthquaker and Boneshaker) with considerably higher AoE damage. Comes down to playstyle preference more than a hard power gap.
